I read an article recently which spoke about what guys think after a break up, which got me thinking maybe guys would like to know what girls think after a break up. I mean, I guess its hard on both parties but I was surprised at the difference between the two. While the girl will mostly be misty eyed and sorrowful, a guy will be stoic and indifferent. Like they say, men are from Mars and women are from Venus!
What girls think after a break up
First off, it depends on who dumped whom, like duh! Let’s start with what happens when you dump her.
She will be mad at you for the first couple of days. She won’t believe that you could let an incredible woman like her slip away. She will miss you like crazy but avoid you like plague. She wants to make you suffer you see, she will hope that you will realize how much you need her and go back to her.
The disbelief and anger will soon turn to hurt and disappointment and she’ll remind herself of all the times that you’ve let her down. This is where the tears and girlfriends come into play. And a couple of guy friends. They will all be subjected to her reasons as to why the breakup was a good move. She may also hit the club and indulge in some mild flirtation just to check her desirability. She’ll hope that you’ll walk in and see her standing amidst all those boys and realize what you let go.
Eventually, she’ll stop looking at her phone every minute and slowly let go of everything you had together. If you want to be friends with this woman, you may approach her safely after this point. Only after she’s let go completely. But very few people can actually do that. If you can, hats off!
But if she’s the one who’s done the dumping, she’ll will feel extremely guilty. She’ll wonder whether she did the right thing. If her doubts or feelings are strong enough, she may even call you back and suggest that you should try once again.
If she does and if you say no, she’ll try to push it out of her mind that you rejected her and remember that she dumped you. She’ll remember all the things she did for you and all the things you never did for her. She’ll hope that you’ll come to your senses and dream up wild scenarios where you surprise her by coming by to her workplace or to her place and beg her forgiveness. When that doesn’t happen, she’ll cry herself to sleep every night till she feels healed. And then she’ll be done.
If she doesn’t, she really meant it when she said let break up. And most probably she’s already been through all the stages of breaking up. Its wisest to let this woman be. She was probably over you the minute she walked out that door.

I recently got dumped by my girlfriend of about seven months. I was completely blindsided. Her reason was that she has one last year of school and that she wants to focus on school and be by herself. I’m still going through the stages of emotions – shock, anger, doubt, etc. In the back of my mind, I’m really hoping that she will rethink this decision and not act on sudden impulses. I say it is a sudden impulse because she broke up with me two days ago but two weeks ago she was talking about having children with me. This is a good one! The FIRST and ONLY thing a guy thinks after a breakup is “Oh shit, she can do whatever she wants now..” And that means, “Oh shit, he can do WHOMEVER she wants now.. Hee, I have a question about this. This girl broke up with me the day she returned from her 6 weeks trip in the summer. Of course I was sad about it, but I have a pretty strong mind (if I may say) and can accept things the way they are pretty fast. After that point I have not let my day be spoiled by depressed or sad feelings about this topic, after a couple weeks you could say I was over it. After that college started again, but now she seems to be mad with me for some reason (we go to the same college), even though I have done nothing wrong to insult her. What is she thinking?
I am just curious what her motive might be, since she is the one that broke up with me, and the reason for that was because she apparentely didn’t miss me on her trip away, so nothing scetchy or wrong from my side.

Well, there can be a couple of reasons for that. Maybe she’s upset that you got over it so quickly and didn’t mope around. I would suggest that you maintain your distance and only reconsider if she makes the first move.
On the other hand, its possible that she genuinely believes she’s made a mistake. If this is the case, again – wait for her to give you some kind of indication. Hope that helps!

Quick question love needs work, I’m going to try my best to keep this short but I need your advice. Gf and I were together a yr and a half. Lived together for 5 months out of it, best 5 months of our lives. We decided to move across country together where she is from but she would go in March and I would follow in July (had obligations I couldn’t get out of). Best relationship both of us has ever had. Her mother died while we were together and that was really tough on her, her family cat of 22 years also was put to sleep, she was devastated. Families and friends loved us together. A month before I’m supposed to move she calls me and tells me I can’t move and this is all too much. I was completely blindsided because the day before and everyday since she would tell me how she loves me and can’t wait to start our lives together in her hometown. She’s a commitment phobe, hasn’t dealt with her mother’s death and she needs time and space. She Said I can’t be the only form of happiness in her life and I agreed with that. We had already bought a one way ticket for July so we decided I take a visit to see each other but not move. Things were amazing like how it always was but then we got into a huge fight because she stood me up for a friend in a crisis. I became upset and picked a huge fight and said some awful things that I feel terrible for saying. She broke up with me the next day. The worst breakup and heartbreak I’ve ever gone through. I went home a few days later but before I left things were really good again. Since I’ve been back she contacts me all the time and is constantly telling me how much she loves, misses and wishes I was there with her. I’ve stopped crying and have been doing really well and taking good care of myself. Last night she called me and we had an amazing conversation almost like how it used to be. She was blowing a lot of hot and cold prior to last night. I do miss her and love her very much but confused as to what all of this she is doing and saying is leading to?

While I can’t figure out what went wrong between you two but it looks like she’s trying to make amends. I would suggest you wait for her to ask you to get back with her, so that there is no miscommunication.

So basically absolute bull s**t at the end of the day there are a lot of idiots out the meaning blokes, but all and I mean all women have a twisted sense of reality about what really happens and what well actually happened! This varies on scale and you hope to get one that isn’t mid table or above. I need help here. She broke up with me 2 months ago. We have been together for 5 years. I went through full break up process of denial, anger, crying and acceptance. I did nothing wrong. She gave several reasons like time out, not resonating any more, career priority and finally told that she was committed with another guy. After 1 week into breakup acceptance, she calls from nowhere. Initially she mentions that another guy was mentioned for separation only, then confirms the guy involvement and then confession that it was her mistake of wrong selection. I responded to call but remained neutral as I did not know what to do. She commented that looks like I have moved on. We talked one more time and then I opened my heart to her. She refused and started saying we cannot be together. Why she called after breakup? Was she expecting something specific from me? I stopped communication for couple of days. Probably all you can do is wait for a decent amount of time(maybe 2-3months) and then casually reach out to her. Don’t push her into being with you, that will just drive her away. Be casual, be cool, keep her guessing and see what happens.

Well its been 14 months and I still think about her, she has made no attempt to contact me, I have made myself better and healthy, I still think about her beautiful face, I had a girlfriend for about 4 months but we ended it on a positive, I would really like to contact my ex from last year but she blocked my phone # and facebook. It’s tough bro. It’s been 10 months for me and there has been pretty much no contact between us at all. Other than a couple text exchanges about her wanting some of her things back. Hi. Three weeks ago my girlfriend of four years broke up with me. It was a final straw argument where I hung up on her as she was crying down the phone (horrible I know). I got to the point where I was so ungrateful and blinded to her emotions and her caring behaviour that I took it all for granted. I’d cause petty pathetic arguments over things like her not texting me back for two hours… It was all me, but it’s taken her breaking up with me to realise it. I mean I see it all in a completely different way. I had become controlling and needy and not a nice guy. But that’s not me. It’s taken this massive wake up call to realise it. I love her to absolute death. I mean, truly. And she loves me, she said so when we last spoke on Christmas Day. But she says she can’t do it anymore.
The problem is she thinks that if we ever got back together, I’d act the same. And that terrifies her. But the truth is, I wouldn’t. It honestly feels like I was blind to my behaviour, and now I see. And I’m so ashamed of myself for it, but just want that opportunity to show her how amazing we can be. When it was great, it was truly great. She make me have butterflies even after four years.
I’ve done the textbook worst things since she broke up with me, been a begging crying needy mess, but I’ve stopped that now.
What do I do to prove to the love of my life that I only want to make her happy ?

Hey guys when a woman breaks up with you especially when she has done wrong. She is gonna be hurt a million times more than you. Women are very emotional and it takes years and years for a woman to get over what they did it haunts them. So if she wants to breakup always give her enough rope to hang herself. It eats them up inside trust me I have had women breakup with me and regret it. Done always think the grass is greener on the other side. It’s never healthy to just up and leave someone. Some women just have the tendency to change their mind instead of sticking to the decision. Dealing with a double minded woman is never a good idea and it just starts to make you confused.

I’ve been married to the same woman for 28 years. We meet our senior year in high school and started dating seriously the summer after graduation. She was a virgin when I started dating her (I was her first). She started college in the fall since her parents were paying for her schooling. I went into the military to get college assistance since my parents couldn’t pay for it. I was gone a lot with military training and about a year later she broke up with me and stated she never wanted to see me again. She said she felt neglected and that I didn’t put her first in my life. Even though I tried to explain that I had my military obligation to fulfill. About 6 months after that she started dating another man 9 years older than her. He was also in the military and they meet at a club on the military base. They had a relationship for about a year and had sex. When things didn’t work out with them she looked me up and called me at the military base I was stationed at. Even though I had been approached by other women I could not sleep with them since I did not have that feeling/chemistry that I had with her. I got my degree before she did even though I had to do it at nights and while on military travel (I did not go out to bars with friends). After we started seeing each other again she stated she would not stay with me if I stayed in the military so I got out and spent the last semester at the college she was attending (she graduated). We got engaged for 5 years, lived together, and things where fine. I now have this jealousy thing going on about the man she slept with during our break apart. Is this normal? Or am I just getting old and my mind is allowing that thought to plague me?

Girls crush a guy’s heart, mind and soul just as much, if not more than guys do to girls. I was recently dumped almost a month ago now and I’m still in the denial, wtf happened for her to change her tune within a weeks time. We had a great weekend before the 4th of July and then parted ways for a week. She left for LA then to NOLA (where she’s moving to Sept 1st) and I went to STL. We always texted GM, GN and checked in briefly throughout the day. She was perfectly fine while in LA, but when she got to NOLA; her behavior completely changed. She picked a fight with me saying that I’m annoying her by texting her when SHE was the one who initiated the texting. She was in complete bitch mode towards me and she’s never acted like that way to me before. So I gave her her space cuz I know she was with a friend. So I finally called her out and she went off saying that she doesn’t bug me when i’m with my friends. Well that’s true, but she would still say hi hows it going? and when she was with that friend several times before she’d send me pics of them and be the one instigating the texting. I’m extremely laid back and trustworthy so I never questioned her being out with friends. So when she got back she told me to come get my shit, so I did and we briefly talked about her decision to throw me away. She blamed everything on me which were all falsified excuses. I’m pretty sure her friends corrupted her in regards to me cuz she’s moving soon. We planned on me coming to visit whenever I could and just see how things pan out. I was willing to move to NOLA too, since i was born there and always wanted to live there as an adult. Now Idk if I’ll ever see or talk to her again. I just can’t understand how we were perfect based on her remarks and that i didn’t do anything wrong to less than a week later she didn’t want me around anymore, blaming me for shit she damn well knows isn’t true. I told her that now I am questioning that what we supposedly had was real or not? She told me she loved me first and was always telling how much she misses me and telling me to get back up to her asap. Then now she’s hating me more than she hates her ex-husband who she despises immensely. So now I am trying to get over her and I’m trying everything from trying to hate her, to saying its her loss to our time together was a facade and never meant a thing to either of us. It really blows!

Adding my two cents. If a girl breaks up with you, she already has someone else in her sights. And while the guy spends months getting over the loss, she will do much better getting over it.
1) she will reach out to friends
2) she will get a guy to fill up the void
3) if some attempt is made by her to try again, she will not respect you because reason 2 and she will see you as submissive for letting her have her way.

In this day in age, with the ease of online dating, a lot of men and women treat their partners as disposable. I dated a sea hag who would want to breakup after any minor discrepancy between us. I loved her dearly and eventually got to the point where I would avoid voicing my disagreements because it was so hard to talk to her about certain things due to the fact that she handled disagreements like a petulant child and would just leave. Eventually I did tell her that I felt like I had to walk on eggshells around her because she was always so willing to just run out the door and breakup instead of discuss the issue. So what did she do? She ran out the door and didn’t talk to me for a couple weeks. Of course, I did nice things and won her back. This last time, however, she was having a stressful time at work and decided to take it out on me for a month until we finally sat down to talk. Instead of talking about ways to rekindle our flame, she did her notorious “we can’t recover from this” and I said “Okay.” She stormed out and I didn’t chase. I know she misses me dearly and wishes that I would grovel to her. Not going to happen.
I miss her so much and all the laughs and good times we shared. I do however need to be with someone who gives me a sense of security that they will stick around through good times and bad and this sea hag doesn’t offer that.

I do not know what to think about boys vs girls psychology. All I knwo is my tough experience recently. Something I was never prepared to. I usually do not get attached too much too quickly, neither get hard break ups, but this one is like a tsunami.
We were all fine, met up around June, and after a few dates we became very close and like each other very much. She enjoyed in me things I believed I was weak and girls would not like. She was beautiful, tall, smart, fun but not behaving like a princess. What could I ask more.
I was on a cloud, and suddenly, after a weekend away, she on the day we are supposed to catch up, she says she has a migraine… 2 days later, the impossible text arrives as I was waiting for news of her getting better.
She said she was incredibly sad to write it, and how difficult it was as she found me handsome, fun, intelligent, cool… but she was seeing someone else and she could not continue to be this bad. She said she would have loved to date me more and continue things with me but she could not compare our relationship to the one with this boyfriend travelling away. She was regretting telling me all this and and she thought she was maybe making a mistake. She thought to do the opposite and keep me after our last date, but she did the opposite, eaten up by guilt. She said she like me just as much if not more etc.
We met up couple days after to talk this through. I though I had something to save. She was not distant, she was sorry.She said she was emotionally drained from another relationship, invested in an 3 month exam consuming her time and eventually do the same with the other guy… She wanted to keep in touch, just have time and space to think through this. etc. She was unsure, confused, and thinking she was likely to make a huge mistake and scared to come back to me in a few month but that I am not here for her anymore.
We spent a good hour together, and at the moment to say good bye, I took her in my arms, kissed her neck I liked so much, breath her smell once more, and she kissed me twice at my greatest surprise. I thought this was not over completely, I somewhat believe she was really considering making a choice…
This experience was a shock to me. I was never prepared that a girl who likes me intensely would break up, so suddenly, without any sign, without seeing it coming.I texted her in the evening, she replied on Sunday closing with this terrible “take good care of yourself” adding an “X”. I was destroyed. Messed up. Confused in feelings and what she meant for her or for me. I texted her twice more and never came back. I still don’t know if she will ever do so, life will tell. I have lost a rare person, without a chance to fight back. I will probably never meet someone like her that was such a blend of what I like in a girl, but I lost her.
My drama is that I was left without a sure closure. For the best or for the worst, if she was eaten up by guild, I have lost more than she can imagine. I never told about my relationships on the web, but this time, I have too, its probably my only way out.
All this to say, when its over, you have a responsibility to make it clear. If it is not than do not mess around with people letting them into a yes but no, perhaps one day, maybe…
I think I have experienced an unlucky love at first sight. Breaking up is tough. Good luck. But if you think you can fight back and win her over again, do it. Then you will know and get the break up required or the follow on. Life only can tell.

Devastated, thinking of everything I did wrong? And everything I wish I could do to fix it. Missing her more than I miss breathing. Can’t eat can’t sleep wishing for one more chance.
